SUMMARY:Horticulture for Health & Well-being: Year-round\, Nature-based Programming for Special Populations
DESCRIPTION:We know there are physical\, cognitive\, emotional\, social\, and spiritual benefits of engagement with gardens and nature. Participants will learn strategies to support well-being in these areas of human growth and development with ideas for each season throughout the year. The evidence base for therapeutic garden characteristics and best practices related to design\, programming\, and presentation of beneficial green spaces will help participants grow even better return on the investment for the green spaces they support and grow in local communities. We will explore examples of diversity\, equity\, and inclusion in all aspects of the process for creating and supporting healthier communities. Gardens grow everyone!
