Rich Hatfield is a Senior Conservation Biologist at the Portland based Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. He has a master's degree in Conservation Biology with a focus in pollination ecology. His work uses science, citizen science, education, and advocacy to protect imperiled animals and their habitat. He leads bumble bee conservation programs for the Xerces Society and has delivered bumble bee educational material and conservation programs throughout North America. In addition to his work as a research biologist, he has extensive classroom teaching experience with a focus on conservation biology, ecology and sustainability.
