Laurie Williams has had a long career in K-12 education as a teacher, teacher trainer, and curriculum director. While working with the community to help the Pioneer School District in Shelton restore their dilapidated school garden, Laurie’s passion and focus was to learn all she could about the principles of gardening, why school gardens are important, why they often fail, and how to help the district develop sustainable nature programs. So, in the past 4 years, she became a WSU master gardener, a certified Life Lab school garden educator, as well as a Square Foot Gardening Instructor.
